Limanakia B

in Athens, Greece

The famous gay and nudist rocky cove between Vouliagmeni and Varkiza on the Athens Riviera, clothing-optional and cruisy, reached down a steep path with no sand or bar β€” bring shoes, water and shade.

Where it is

On the Athens Riviera between Vouliagmeni and Varkiza, about 1.8 km past Vouliagmeni Lake along the coastal Poseidonos Avenue.

What it is

Instead of sand there are flat white limestone rocks you climb in from into deep, clear water. Limanakia B is largely nudist and a long-established gay meeting spot; the several coves range from mixed and relaxed to outright cruising areas. There is almost no infrastructure, so bring water, shade and sturdy shoes for the rocks.

History

The rocky coves of Limanakia sit on an undeveloped stretch of the Athens Riviera, about 30–45 minutes from the centre. The "Limanakia B" section has for decades been the best-known gay and nudist beach in the area. There is no resort development, which has kept its raw character.
