Madrid Pride (MADO) is one of the biggest prides in the world. Its heart beats in the Chueca district, and the huge march moves along the Gran Vía. In 2026 the peak is announced for early July.

About the event

Madrid Orgullo, known as MADO, is one of the biggest prides in the world and arguably the most famous in southern Europe. Its heart beats in Chueca, the city's historic queer district just north of the Gran Via. For several days the squares, terraces and streets here turn into an open stage of concerts, street parties and easy encounters.

The huge march moves right through the centre of Madrid, turning the city into a vast river of people, floats and flags. MADO is more than a party, though: the demonstration carries a clear message for equal rights and remains, visibly, a protest. At the same time the mood is warm, sociable and surprisingly relaxed for its scale.

If you travel, think of Chueca as your base: short distances, plenty of bars, and a neighbourhood that carries the celebration rather than merely tolerating it. Exact dates, the march route and the full programme are published each year on the organiser's official site.
