A full rotation in one of the 32 glass capsules takes about 30 minutes and gives 360-degree views over the city, reaching up to 40 kilometres on a clear day. It is one of London's most popular photo spots, especially at sunset.

History

The giant wheel was built for the millennium and completed at the end of 1999, designed by architects Marks Barfield. Originally intended as a temporary millennium project, it quickly became a permanent fixture of the London skyline.
