Inside, the vast Turbine Hall hosts rotating large-scale installations, while the collection brings together works by Picasso, Matisse, Yayoi Kusama and many others. Entry to the collection is free, and the upper viewing level offers sweeping views over the London skyline.

History

This museum of modern and contemporary art opened in 2000 inside the former Bankside Power Station, designed by architect Giles Gilbert Scott. The conversion by Herzog & de Meuron turned the disused industrial building into one of the most visited art museums in the world.
