What to expect
Housing for older LGBTIQ+ people is the subject of this AVIF and Voqueer event at Lausanne’s Palais de Rumine on 18 November, starting at 16:30. The programme combines a documentary screening, talks and presentations of housing projects.
The opening film, “Les Audacieux·ses”, follows the creation of a shared housing initiative in Lyon for older LGBTI+ people, people living with HIV and allies. It runs for 52 minutes. Talks begin at 18:30, covering housing and ageing policy in the canton of Vaud, the particular challenges LGBTIQ people may face when moving home in later life, and alternative approaches to housing as people grow older.
From 19:15, the focus shifts to Swiss projects. Participants involved in the QueerAltern and City of Zurich initiative will take part alongside those working on Lausanne projects within the Collectif Habitats arc-en-ciel Vaud. The event is open to everyone. Registration is compulsory through the Haute école de travail social website, with a deadline of 15 November.
