DIVA – Diamond and Silver Museum
in Antwerp, Belgium
A museum dedicated to Antwerp's centuries-old diamond trade, set in the heart of the world's leading diamond district.
Where it is
DIVA is in the historic centre between the Grote Markt and the Scheldt, on the Suikerrui in the heart of the old town.
Address: 17-19 Suikerrui, 2000 Antwerp
What it is
The permanent exhibition 'A Brilliant Story' leads visitors theatrically from the mine to the finished jewel, displaying around 650 diamonds, pieces of jewellery and silver objects from the 15th century to the present. Its dramatically staged rooms make DIVA one of the city's most striking museum experiences.
History
The museum opened in 2018, merging the collections of the former Antwerp Diamond Museum (1972–2012) and the Sterckshof silver museum (1992–2014). It thereby builds on Antwerp's reputation as the world capital of the diamond trade.
