What it is
On Wednesdays from April to October the site turns into a colourful maze of stalls selling fashion, jewellery, crafts and decoration, with live music and street food. The atmosphere is family-friendly and relaxed, with a clear nod to the island's hippie heritage. It is one of the most popular markets for souvenirs and a worthwhile stop for families.
History
The market was founded in 1973 and is regarded as the oldest hippie market in Ibiza. From the original stalls of the hippies who arrived in the 1970s, it grew over more than five decades into an established meeting point for crafts and island culture. Today it has around 400 stalls.
