In the south of Ibiza within the Ses Salines Natural Park, in the municipality of Sant Josep de sa Talaia.
Address: Sant Francesc de s'Estany
What it is
This long, natural sandy beach with dunes and clear water sits protected within the natural park. It is a nudist beach and considered the most famous gay beach in Ibiza, with the gay crowd concentrated above all at the southern end around the Chiringay beach club. The atmosphere is relaxed and open, drawing the full mix of the island.
History
In 1978 Es Cavallet was designated one of Spain's first official nudist beaches. Its name refers to a horse (cavallet) that once turned a water wheel used to flood the nearby salt pans. Over the years its southern end established itself as an internationally known meeting point for the LGBT scene.
