Elia Beach
in Mykonos, Greece
The main gay beach: party vibe and a beach bar at the front, a clothing-optional cove to the right, cruising rocks beyond.
Where it is
Elia lies on the south coast of Mykonos, east of Super Paradise and over the hill from neighbouring Agrari.
What it is
The wide golden sand and clear water are well equipped; the far right-hand section (marked by a rainbow flag) is the gay area, beyond which lie quieter, largely gay and partly nudist coves. Watersports, sunbeds and shade make Elia an easy beach day, a little removed from the party-beach crowds.
History
Elia is one of the longest sandy beaches on the island and over the years became the main gay beach of Mykonos, taking over the role Super Paradise once held. It is now well organised with beach bars and sunbeds.
