Geneva Raises the Rainbow Flag at City Hall

To open Pride season, the rainbow flag is once again flying at Geneva's City Hall. With the gesture, the city council reaffirmed its commitment to the rights of queer people.
At the short ceremony, representatives of the city and local organisations spoke. They stressed that while symbols matter, concrete policy must follow.
Geneva is regarded as one of the most queer-friendly cities in Switzerland. Even so, organisations continue to report everyday incidents.
The flag will fly until the end of Pride week. A city walk on Geneva's queer history is planned to accompany it.
