Beach
Playa de la Garrofera
in Valencia, Spain
A long unspoilt naturist beach backed by dunes and pines further south near the former Hotel Sidi Saler, popular with the LGBTQ+ and nudist crowd.
Where it is
In the Albufera natural park, between El Saler and La Devesa, about 12 km south of Valencia, behind dunes and pine forest.
Address: Pobles del Sud, Valencia
What it is
A quiet, unspoilt beach with dunes and Mediterranean vegetation; the first stretch of about 800 metres from El Saler is traditionally used by nudists. Around an abandoned factory there is a cruising section more frequented by gay visitors; overall the beach is mixed and family-friendly.
History
La Garrofera lies within the protected dune-and-forest belt of the Devesa del Saler and has therefore remained largely undeveloped. It has established itself as one of the most unspoilt nudist beaches south of Valencia.
