Bern Opens New Youth Centre for Queer Teenagers

A new youth centre dedicated to queer teenagers has opened its doors in Bern. The service is aimed at young people aged 13 to 20 and offers a place where they can feel safe and accepted.

Alongside open drop-in evenings, it provides free, confidential counselling by trained professionals. Parents and caregivers can also reach out to the centre.

The organisers stress how important such spaces are, especially for young people in rural areas who often travel long distances. A digital point of contact complements the on-site offer.

The project is funded through a mix of city money and private donations. Financing is secured for the first year of operation.
