Overview
Rainbow Sport Zürich is a sports association for Zurich’s LGBTIQA+ community. It welcomes lesbian, gay, bi and pan people, alongside trans, nonbinary, intersex, asexual and aromantic people. Its stated welcome extends to all queer identities and orientations.[2]
The association reports bringing together more than 400 people. Shared sporting interests also provide opportunities to meet others and spend time together socially. Diversity, tolerance and mutual respect are among the principles the club identifies for its community.[1]
Activities
The sports overview lists badminton, basketball, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, CrossFit, football, padel, pétanque, Pilates, road cycling, running, swimming, squash, dance, tennis, table tennis, triathlon, volleyball and yoga. The club describes both shared training sessions and competitions as part of its sporting activities.[1]
The association takes part in Zurich Pride annually. It also identifies SeeüberQUEERung and participation in the EuroGames and GayGames among its community activities. Its Pride page connects that involvement with visibility, equality and inclusion across sport and society.[2][1]
The published 2027 calendar includes a New Year drinks gathering on 15 January, from 18:30 to 22:30, a winter sports weekend in Scuol from 5 to 7 February, and a sports weekend in Filzbach from 24 to 26 September.[1]
Taking part
Basic membership is listed at CHF 60 per calendar year. It lasts until the end of the current club year and renews automatically unless cancelled. Basic members can take out sports subscriptions to participate in the corresponding disciplines. The registration form also includes an option for basic membership alone.[5]
Online registration asks for a start date, pronouns, first name, surname, email address and chosen sport. Address, postcode, town or city, date of birth, telephone number and language are also required. A mandatory field asks for confirmation that membership has been clarified with the sports managers.[3]
Contact
The contact form provides topics for general enquiries, proposed new sports, and questions about particular sports or events. First name, surname, email address, topic and message are mandatory. The contact page also offers a separate route for raising a concern or submitting feedback.[6]
The published correspondence address is “Rainbow Sport Zürich, 8000 Zürich”. The contact page specifically identifies this as a postal address.[6]
