Regenbogenhaus Zürich brings together activities for the queer community: discussion groups, shared working sessions and advice provided by several organisations.[3][2]

Overview

The venue also has a library. For anyone planning to attend a group or event, the house calendar and the organisation responsible provide current details. These complement the published recurring schedules.[1][2]

Activities

Queer co-working runs on Fridays from 15:00 to 18:30. Participants can bring a laptop, tablet or homework; Wi-Fi and power sockets are available. HAZ — Queer Zürich also runs Queermix for English-speaking queer people, with discussions of queer topics on the first Wednesday of each month at 19:00.[2]

HAZ’s bi group offers lightly facilitated discussion for adults on the bi+ spectrum on the last Wednesday of each month. The TGNS youth group serves trans, non-binary and questioning young people aged approximately 13–29. It meets on Sundays every other month, with dates listed in the agenda.[2]

MigraQueer meets on the third Wednesday of each month in German and English. It is for queer and trans people with a migration background, including the second generation, or personal migration or refugee experience. Other people are asked not to attend, as an act of solidarity.[2]

Participation

HAZ’s free, confidential sexual-orientation counselling supports lesbian, gay, bisexual and pansexual people and those unsure of their orientation. Topics include coming out, relationships and discrimination. Sessions are available at the house, by telephone or by email. Appointment requests go to constance.hoppmann@haz.ch or robin.portmann@haz.ch.[2]

Reto Tschan provides free, confidential social advice for LGBTQIA+ people on Wednesday afternoons, with or without an appointment. Subjects include work, housing, residence status and finances. Consultations can also take place outside that on-site period. Reto can be contacted Tuesday–Friday at Tschan@hiv-aidsseelsorge.ch or 079 236 89 05.[2]

Support can take the form of donations, membership or contributing time and skills. Anyone can become a member; membership helps finance the activities and gives the house a firmer basis for planning.[3][6]
