Paris is especially convenient for Swiss travellers: fast by train, with a queer scene in Le Marais and a major cultural offer. It is not a beach destination, but strong for weekends, Pride, exhibitions, food and bars.

Le Marais — Historic queer district with bars, shops and cafés.
Canal Saint-Martin / Oberkampf — Younger bars, culture and alternative nights out.

What to do

Bars and cafés in Le Marais, especially around Rue des Archives.
Marche des Fiertés / Pride in late June.
Museums, the Seine, fashion, food and shows for a packed weekend.
Very easy to combine with rail travel from Switzerland.

When to go: April to October; Pride is usually in late June.

Getting there from Switzerland: TGV Lyria connects Zurich/Basel/Geneva directly with Paris; flights are also available.
