What it is
El Bajondillo is a wide, well-equipped urban beach with a promenade, beach bars and a lift connecting the centre with the shore. It is the heart of Torremolinos' gay beach scene, with rainbow flags flying over the Eden and Paraíso beach clubs.
History
The beach sits in the town's old fishing core, which from the late 1950s grew into one of the first seaside resorts on the Costa del Sol. Nearby landmarks include the medieval Torre de Pimentel and the early-20th-century neo-Mudéjar Casa de los Navajas.
