KölnTriangle Panorama

in Cologne, Germany

On the right bank of the Rhine, this roughly 100-metre-high glass-walled observation deck gives the best 360-degree view over the cathedral and Old Town — best at sunset.

Where it is

The viewing platform sits atop the KölnTriangle tower at Ottoplatz 1 in the Deutz district, on the east bank of the Rhine opposite the cathedral.

What it is

The fully glazed platform 100 metres up offers a 360-degree view over Cologne, with the cathedral and Old Town directly across the Rhine. Admission is inexpensive (tickets on site) and the view is one of the city's finest. Especially recommended at sunset.

History

The 103-metre office tower was designed by Dörte Gatermann (Gatermann + Schossig) and completed in 2006. Its roof holds a publicly accessible viewing platform, operated by Rheinland Kultur GmbH.
