What it is
Casa Batlló dazzles with its shimmering façade inspired by bone and marine life and a light-filled interior, while La Pedrera is known for its wave-like stone façade and famous rooftop terrace of sculptural chimneys. Both offer interior visits with tickets best booked online in advance.
History
Casa Batlló was remodelled by Antoni Gaudí between 1904 and 1906, while La Pedrera (Casa Milà) was built from 1906 to 1912 as his last civil work. Both are UNESCO World Heritage sites; La Pedrera today houses apartments alongside a cultural centre run by the Fundació Catalunya La Pedrera.
