Mar Bella lies on the coast of the Sant Martí district, at the northeastern end of Barcelona's beaches, easily reached by metro (Selva de Mar or Poblenou).

What it is
Mar Bella is Barcelona's only nudist beach and a focal point of the city's gay beach scene; the nudist, predominantly gay section lies at the rocky end to the right. The well-known Chiringuito BeGay right on the sand is a popular hub in summer.
History
Like most of Barcelona's beaches, Mar Bella was created and replenished during the redevelopment of the coast for the 1992 Olympics. It has since become the city's best-known nudist and gay beach.
