What it is

Guided tours reveal the Blue Hall and the Golden Hall lined with millions of mosaic tiles, while the 106-metre tower offers a sweeping view over the city. Its brick façade and waterside setting make the City Hall one of Stockholm's most photographed landmarks.

History

Designed by Ragnar Östberg in the National Romantic style, the building was inaugurated in 1923 and ranks among Sweden's most important works of architecture. Its Blue Hall hosts the Nobel Prize banquet every 10 December.
