What it is
The house preserves Rusiñol's collection of wrought iron, ceramics, glass and paintings, including works by Picasso, Casas and two panels by El Greco. Its atmospheric, artist-designed rooms make it one of the most evocative house-museums in Catalonia.
History
The artist Santiago Rusiñol founded the Cau Ferrat in 1893 as a house-studio that became a gathering place of Catalan Modernisme. After his death it opened as a public museum in 1933 and was thoroughly restored between 2010 and 2014.
