Beach
Platja dels Balmins
in Sitges, Spain
A clothing-optional cove about 15 minutes' walk from the centre, mixed crowd with a strong bear presence.
Where it is
This sheltered bay lies about a kilometre north-east of the centre, just past the port and the small chapel above Sant Sebastià beach.
What it is
Around 240 metres long, the cove is split by rocks into several sections and is clothing-optional: one area is mixed and family-oriented, another mostly gay. It has a chiringuito and toilets, and its sheltered feel makes it a favourite quiet retreat.
History
The Balmins cove has established itself over the years as one of the best-known naturist and LGBTQ-friendly beaches in Sitges. Its position away from the main promenade has always given it a quieter, more loyal character.
