Bern Pride 2026: everything you need to know for 25 July

Bern Pride takes place on Saturday, 25 July 2026. The march starts at Waisenhausplatz at 1pm with opening speeches, before the procession moves through the old town: past the Zytglogge, down to Nydeggstalden at the Aare bend, then along Brückenstrasse to Bundesplatz. There, a varied programme awaits with speeches, drag shows and community acts — most from Bern and the region.
Bundesplatz transforms into a shared stage and Pride Village with a marketplace, local artisans, Swiss food and organisations working on social justice. Individuals and friend groups can join the demonstration without registering and enter the procession at any point. Associations and organisations were asked to register by 30 June.
Bern Pride is one of the largest political visibility events for LGBTIQ+ people in German-speaking Switzerland. In its current form — demonstration and festival on Parliament Square — it has established itself as a fixture of the Swiss summer calendar, with visibility that extends beyond the community. Bern as the political centre of Switzerland gives the event an additional layer of symbolic meaning: the community gathers directly in front of Parliament.
For Queer Switzerland, Bern Pride is a moment to highlight local resources: hab queer Bern and QueerSport Bern are active in the city scene, the Comeback Bar on Rathausgasse is a reliable gathering point, and Marzili lido remains a queer summer meeting place on the Aare. Visitors travelling from other cities can reach the federal capital easily by train, bus or bike.
